I’m sure you’ve heard the phrases ‘Old Money Aesthetics’ and ‘Quiet Luxury’ come up a few times since the Sofia Richi wedding this past summer. While not everyone can afford the glamourous old money wedding, what IS in budget are some Luxury on Trend nails.

So, before we get going with this season’s nail trends, let’s dive into what old money and quiet luxury are.

Firstly, old money is exactly that ‘old’ – I’m not telling you to snag your grandma’s cardi but the vibe is definitely moving away from young, free and careless.

I’m not sure about you, but I’m a little relieved to see the prints, crop tops and dresses with the sides cut out take a back seat.

Together, we’ll be headed towards more neutral colors, or deep rich colors like navy blue. Loafers, polo shirts and classic dresses are going to be taking the place of sweat suits and yoga pants.

So what should we do about our nails?

I’d recommend Gravity-Pulled Glass for the base of your new Old Money look.

‘Why?’ – I hear you ask? Well, you’ll love to learn that this product does not lift, crack, yellow or peel and it can go 3-4 weeks without needing a fill (when kept properly).

This will keep your hands looking cared for without the price tag of having to go the salon every 2 weeks.

Now that we have covered the base, I would strongly recommend neutral colors or dark rich colors – which are going to be perfect for the fall.

Some examples of neutral colors:

  • Tan
  • Beige
  • Nude
  • Light caramel
  • Glazed donut

And some dark rich colors

  • Deep Red
  • Dark Tan
  • Dark Coffee
  • Dark Caramel

For the length, a short to mid length is perfect to fit this aesthetic. Personally, I do love a long stiletto but this fall I’ll most likely choose almond shape or even a short square depending on the events that I’ll be attending.

And now, the nail art….

Old money and quiet luxury don’t include Swarovski crystals glued to every nail or 3d flowers on your thumbs, instead opt in for a simpler,  low-key look for your nails this fall.

If you really want to achieve the quiet luxury feel, I’d leave the ‘nail art’ completely out, however if you do prefer your nails a little spicey, then you can always opt in to make your nails matte – I know, I know, it’s not quiet the spice you were asking for, but don’t forget we are talking about the old money look.

Another idea is if you went for a pale nude or pink color as your base, you could add a little shimmer on top, this will give you some pizazz without going overboard.
